Try using calibre's ebook-convert.exe directly on the .azw as it can handle high (HuffDic) compressed files. Other programs, like MobiPerl cannot handle it, at this time.

I´ve never been able to get calibre to work (probably something obvious that everyone here already knows). When I click on conver individually, I select pdf as the output format and then use the default options. I click ok and the status at the bottom says beginning ebook conversion. After one second the status returns to the directory of the selected book without any conversion. Aren´t the underlying scripts the same anyway?

Now I have a thousand page pdf with all the text in the top left corner (generated wit h latest Calibre release). Solution?

Yay! I fixed it and Calibre worked! (0 pt line spacing)

For those interested or had a similar problem, I just converted it to epub through calibre instead and it came out great. I haven´t tried converting these books to pdf from epub but I´ve done that before without any problems. So the solution to small text in the top left corner may just be to use epub as an intermediate format.

If you want the HTML and images out of a (drm-free) Mobipocket file, use Mobiunpack

this will get you HTML which you can then tweak. NB The HTML will be Mobipocket's weird internal form of HTML. If you want to convert to another format, rather than just tweak and recompile, I'd recommend going through Calibre.
