Authors surname first ?

hello on my list of books it shows the first name of the author first and i would like to know how to change it so it shows the surname first,any ideas please ?

Under Metadata, make sure both 'author' fields are last name first, first name last.

Works for me.

thank you i went to Metadata and put both author fields to last name and auto and applied all ok now.

I think that unless set the 'tweak' and do some of the steps discussed in the other posts, various things won't work for you. For example, the author list in the tags pane (left hand side) is probably in the wrong order. The author_sort box in edit metadata will be pink, indicating that calibre does not agree with your settings. There are other possible problems as well.

However, if you don't have many books or authors, then you can probably ignore these issues.
