Robert Burns - 250th Anniversery

This Sunday, 25th January, is the 250th anniversary of Robert Burn's birth.

To help in planning your Burns Supper:

For the poetry reading you can find a nicely formatted volume of Robert Burns' work here on MobileRead by RWood.

Not sure what to serve at the supper? The Burns Supper website has menu ideas and recipes (including Haggis Lasagne and Haggis Nachos ).

http://www.burnssupper2009.com

And to get you in the mood check out Homecoming Scotland's TV advert (look out for Brian Cox, Eddi Reader, and Sir Sean).

**Mods, wasn't sure where to put thread...

It noted on the BBC News yesterday that there are more "Burns Suppers" taking place in England than in Scotland .

Well, there are a lot more people in England than there are in Scotland. Hmm... there's more people in Greater London then there are in Scotland!

The National Trust for Scotland is also publishing Burns's letters online, one letter for each day they were written. The letters were written from 1787 to 1789. Here's the link:
