Chambers, Robert W: The Tracer of Lost Persons, v.1 10 March 2008.

A novel of 1906.
(Illustrated.)

By Robert W Chambers (1865-1933). I haven’t come across this author before, but was browsing PG and liked the title. The novel seems to be a humorous episodic set of linked stories about a professional tracer of missing people.

According to this book review: http://www.old-time.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=64, the book you posted is the basis for the later radio series "Mr Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons".

Chambers is probably better known for his fantastic novel, _The King In Yellow_.

_The Tracer of Lost Persons_ may have inspired a long running radio drama in the US, called "Mr Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons". It was one of the first detective shows to be broadcast, though in later years it largely abandoned the tracer of lost persons motif and had Keen solving murders.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Kee...f_Lost_Persons for more details.
