Authors Behaving Badly

Don't know who any of these people are, but pretty funny in a sort of warning to both sides type of way. Apostrophe fans won't like it.

It seems strange behavior in the first place to ask fans to buy the book so it can reach #1. I don't buy a book in order to push it up the charts, I buy it because I want the book. Ego is both useful and dangerous. A person needs to have some ego just to get out of bed, let alone to create something and share it with the world. But excessive ego can lead people to forget that readers have other authors to choose from, and might well just buy someone else's book if they become annoyed.

I think she's of the attitude that "Second place is the first loser." I ran into that a lot in elementary and middle school, and I've heard of adults with it too. While second place in the Olympics gets a silver medal, second place almost everywhere else is treated like a failure.

Although the irony is, the team that loses the Super Bowl still gets a championship ring.
