If you can wait for a while, you should check out the newly announced Kobo Glo:

It's not a long wait, only until October 1st. I am about to click "Submit" to pre-order mine.

I'm thinking about it too, but now I may have to wait to see the comparison reviews of the Kobo Glo and Kindle Paperwhite.
Same resolution (I think), but I wonder if there is any difference in the "whiteness" of the screens. |

Seems too coincidental these coming out at the same time with the same specs. I'd assume the eink component is identical. What probably differs however is the frontlighting tech, although in videos both look really good and even.

Pocketbook are also working on an HD reader.
Interesting to see if B&N and Sony also follow suit. The fact that Sony has only just announced a new model would seem to imply otherwise (at least for the time being). |

Right now, the best 1024x768 reader is a choice between the i62HD and the Kobo Glo. I know the new Kindle has 1024x768, but it doesn't handle ePub, so it's not in the running.

How does the last generation kobo's and Kindles compare when it comes to navigation and sorting of books in the interface? Any preferences? That's probably going to be my biggest selecting factor for the next/current generation (Apart from ePub support of course).
