PRS-T1 Connected to network but can't connect to internet?

I am connected to my home network on my PRS-T1 but when I try to download a book from the sony bookstore I get the following message:

The network is not connected. Please check the network settings and then try again. (-1)

Makes no sense since I'm at their website.

Is your device ADE "authorized" check under settings, you need to be authorized before you can download books from Sony, is it just the Sony store that is giving you a problem?
