Device: Kobo Touch & Vox
General Question with Downloading Calibre

I have a Kobo Touch and a Vox.
When downloading Calibre2 64 bit on windows 7 system, I had the option to
select Kobo Vox and Kobo.
I selected Kobo as I would use the touch model more frequently.
The first time I connected the reader (Touch) it was not recognized.
So I disconnected and looked on Calibre for the select Kobo Vox option.
Could find no option.
I uninstalled Calibre2, cleaned my registry of any Calibre notations and tried to re-install the program expecting to have the option to select device.
The option was not listed, but continued with installation.
I then connected the Vox and it was recognized (I think) as the toolbar changed and gave me the options to add a book, along with other options.
I added a book. It did an automatic conversion, and appeared in the library.
I clicked on add to device and it appeared to do so as a green check mark
appeared next to the book title.
When I went to eject the ereader it showed two drives. In my case F and H.
So I did both and unplugged USB cable.
The added book was not on the ereader (Vox).
Any help and advice on this?? Thanks

After long and tedious research, I find you cannot load books to a VOX.
You have to use a Micro SD card with books loaded to it, to read ebooks on the Vox.
Wonder why they show the VOX on Calibre.
What a waste of time.
I uninstalled Calibre.

Your device was recognized.

This means the book was transferred to your device.

The odds are great that the book is in fact on your device, otherwise what you describe above would not have happened. The fact that the book is on your device doesn't mean your Reading app will automatically see the book.

From what you described above the book did get transferred to your device so your research is flawed. Many folks here use the Vox hopefully they will weigh in. Unless you have given up all hope.

I'm sure this is one way to do it, but not the only way.

They show it because it is a supported device and works fine with calibre.

There is a learning curve with any software if you uninstalled calibre this early in the game then possibly you have wasted your time. If you decide not to use calibre that is fine, but it does work fine with the Vox.
