Fonts for Sony Reader

I have a html document (from Microsoft Word save as) which contains a few paragraphs. Some paragraphs are in Serif font (Times New Roman) and some are in San-Serif (Arial). Howerver, when I use Calibre to convert this document to epub, the output epub file shows all paragraphs are in Serif font only.
Have I missed some thing? or what I should do to have the epub file display correctly in Sony Reader.

I don't have any experience with a Sony Librie but you could try this:

Open your HTML file in a text editor.

Look for occurrences of font-family:Arial and
replace with the more generic font-family:sans-serif (or font-family:Arial, sans-serif if you prefer).

There is a good chance that your reader doesn't know what Arial means.

You can also embed fonts directly into lrf (under lrf output)
You can use the lrf or convert the lrf to epub
