call for multiple tag querying in library.

I use eDGe to manage huge number of pdf papers for my dissertation tagged by different combination of methods. Now eDGe just allows to sellect one tag in querying, but I hope I can narrow down the query results by applying a combination of multiple tags. Thx

I will look into adding multiple tag filtering into the next release.

I've added a text box where you can type in mutiple tags and it will filter the books on them. currently it only does 'Or' (so if a book matches any of the tags you type in it will display), but I will add using 'And' so a book will only match if it contains All the strings that you type.

If there is a "NOT", it will be even better =)

I'd definitely like this, too.

what sort of filtering expressions are you looking to use.

I am currently looking at implementing things along the lines of:

"Arthur C. Clarke" Or Asimov AndNot fiction

Not Asimov

"Gothic Horror" or fantasy

where a string in quotes will be matched completly, any string with spaces must be enclosed in quotes.

using boolean operators : 'Or', 'And', 'AndNot' and 'OrNot'

will this be sufficient?

Maybe consider the Google search syntax? All terms being ANDed for top matches and ORed for lower ranking matches, with text in quotes being exact matches, and a dash ("-") before a term meaning "NOT". Maybe not. Maybe Or/And/AndNot/OrNot would be simpler and clearer...

My personal usage of multi-tag searching I think would normally be all ANDs, e.g. "Sci-Fi AND ToRead".

yup, I just noticed a couple of days ago that this couldn't be done.

Anybody know if eNtOUrAGe is monitoring the forum?

Yes, keep this up! I think it'd be pretty simple to do...
