I Read On A 2.2-Inch Screen
Greetings, all! I love MobileRead (the news, and the forums) and am glad to have found it.
I currently use my Palm Centro and Mobipocket to read my e-books (in addition to my day job, I'm busy with a toddler and a newborn, so only 1 or 2 books a month). The 2.2" (diagonal) screen IS small, but with white text on a dark blue background and holding the device close enough to my face (not as close as you might think), I have no trouble forgetting the medium and getting lost in the story. I'd still like an E Ink device though. Unless I get a Kindle, I'll miss the Internet connectivity I have while reading on my phone (although I realize now that E-Readers with wifi might offer some type of web browser too). But since my Centro works ok for me now, I'm finding it hard to justify $350+ on an E Ink device. Anyway, thanks for providing such a great community! |

Hi! Welcome!
Well, unless you are committed to the e-ink displays, might I suggest you try a reader like mine? It's relatively inexpensive and very easy to use. Look on the wiki here and eBookwise website for info. (Also check eBay - they had one for $50 a week ago.) |

Hi and welcome!!! Oh yeah, one can definitely get lost in the book, even on a small screen. I've been reading on a Palm for about 10 years .... and only now do I find I need a larger screen and less back-light since my eyes have gotten 10 years older too. (Darn them!) Enjoy the chatter here! Oh, and the great information too.
