Von Libri sollte man die Finger lassen, solange die jedes E-Book mit hartem DRM versehen, auch die Bücher von Bastei.

Aber scheinbar gibt es ja Diskussionen in den Verlagen, den harten Schutz gegen einen weichen auszutauschen (Wasserzeichen), dann könnte Beam alles verkaufen. Dann wäre übrigens auch Libri dabei, auf eine Anfrage, warum sie alles mit hartem DRM versehen, kam letztens folgende Antwort:
Wir hoffen darauf, dass die Verlage aus den Fehlern der Musikindustrie lernen. Im Bereich der Hörbücher können wir unseren Kunden bereits Artikel mit einem passiven Kopierschutz anbieten und haben die Artikel mit einem aktiven Kopierschutz aus unserem Sortiment entfernt. Es wäre auch zu unserem Vorteil, wenn sich das eBook-Angebot ähnlich entwickeln würde.
Um so unverständlicher, daß sie angeblich technisch nicht in der Lage sind, DRM-freie Bücher auch ohne DRM zu verkaufen.

Eben! Bastei/Lübbe nutzt ja sehr wohl "weiches DRM".

Eben! Bastei/Lübbe nutzt ja sehr wohl "weiches DRM".
Thalia (Buch.de) ist auch nicht besser. Ich hatte die auch angeschrieben und gerade folgende Antwort bekommen:
Alle eBooks die wir über www.thalia.de anbieten sind verlagsseitig mittels DRM kopiergeschützt.

Da der Umgang mit diesem Kopierschutz für viele Kunden ohne Computerkenntnisse häufig ein Hinderniss dargestellt hat, wurde das Verfahren im Zuge der Einführung unseren neuen eBook-Readers, dem OYO, deutlich vereinfacht. Diese Vereinfachung setzt jedoch voraus, dass ausschließlich über den OYO in unserem integrierten eBook-Shop gekauft wird. Hierfür ist ein WLAN-Zugang erforderlich. Auf den Kopierschutz verzichten möchten die Verlage aus Sorge um eine illegale Vervielfältigung ihrer Werke noch nicht.

Sie können jedoch sicher sein, dass wir von Thalia auch in Zukunft an möglichst kundenfreundlichen Lösungen arbeiten werden, damit unsere eBooks auf verschiedenen Lesegeräten genutzt werden können. In unseren Hilfeseiten weisen wir auf den DRM-Schutz der eBooks hin. Zudem werden wir zeitnah unsere AGB entsprechend aktualisieren.
Johannes von lesen.net ruft indirekt zum Boykott von Libri auf, aber die Konkurrenz ist auch nicht besser. Von den großen Anbietern scheint nur Libreka Bücher auch DRM-frei zu verkaufen. Und dort gibt es sehr viele Titel der großen Verlage überhaupt nicht.

Versuche es jetzt noch mal bei Buecher.de, fürchte aber, daß die auch bei Thalia dranhängen.

Buecher.de wird wie Thalia (auch) über ciando beliefert. Und da ist DRM standardgemäß eingestellt.

Ich habe gesehen, das es jetzt John Sinclair bei Beam gibt. Wie stehen die Chancen für Maddrax (gibt's auch ja schon bei Libri) und eventuell Zamorra? Als Abo?
