How to support a new device?

I read in the FAQs to add support for a new device, you need to copy the debug file and send it to the developer. But how exactly do you send it to the developer? I couldn't find an email or PM to send the information.

I'm guessing maybe you just make a post? Well if so, here is my request for support for the T-Mobile US HTC HD2:

The device is a PDA and the ebook formats depend on which software you use. The software I use allows for EPUB & PDF.

That device doesn't report its vendor and prod names to windows, so calibre can't support it. Use connect to folder to connect to it.

Sorry, I'm not sure it is the right place to ask ?
I have a HTC HD2. I know it can't be recognized but is there a way to do a 'batch copy a my library (270 books) to my memory card.
Every epub to the directory ...\Reader\Books
Each cover.jpg changed to nameofthebook.jpg (and nameofthebook_thumb.jpg) and copied to ...\Reader\Images
Thank you if anyone can help.

I wrote that "you can't do this." I was wrong. Although I just put the cover into the epub, I forgot that Calibre will rename cover.jpg to nameofthebook.jpg during a Save to Disk operation, so you can do this, also. You need to set the option to save the book cover. It's in the preferences | Import/Export | Savng books area.

Hello !
Thanks for your response.
I'm new to Calibre and to the HD2.
I was previouly using Mobipocket on another device, but Mobipocket for the HD2 is not finger friendly and does not seem to be going to change (no more versions). So I tried the HTC reader (that was not built in on my french HD2 but I installed it as a cab. It is very beautiful, I like it except that it is a long task to convert every book, and to rename every cover, and then copy each one. I think I gonna do it for my french books, because for the english ones I did not find any dictionary (translation) solution in that reader.
Do you know a reader (beside mobipocket) that is able to do that ?

I can't connect to disk from within calibre, I must do it with the explorer, I don't know why.

Thanks

I am not sure exactly what you want the reader to do. Is it dictionary support? Freda (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61539) has support for arbitrary dictionaries.

You are probably connecting via activesync instead of 'disk drive', and I would bet you checked the box 'don't ask me again', so you aren't seeing the choice. Go to settings, connections, USB connections and re-enable the choice box.

You shouldn't have to rename every cover, and Save to Disk should work great, that's how my wife uses her HD2. She prefers the HTC Reader, but you can look at uBook. She has that installed, too.

Yes I've found it, I must try it with Slovoed. But Freda seems a little slow and I don't like the complicated settings.

I found that in the Manilla ereader there is a function search in Google or Wikipedia, I was hoping that it could be changed into a dictionary search ...

Yes I had tried it and abandonned because the storage card was not visible BUT I tried again and the books are sent to the storage card so it helps.

The save to disk function creates a sub-folder with my epub, in the folder Books, so the indexer for the Manilla eReader does not see it.
I'll give a try to uBook, thanks (to your wife also )

You can control the folder name with the Save to Disk pattern. I don't know where it needs to go for you, but can't you set it that way? This is not a problem for my wife - she mostly uses the Calibre content server with the HD2 to get each book she wants via wifi or 3G and store it wherever she points the save operation.
