Hey after succeding at changing font from Baskerville. I tried my hand at changing Caecilia font type in 5.6.5 where it is shown next to Bookerly but i am somehow not able to detect any changes.
In the linkfonts/etc/conf.d directory, I created 98-caecilia.conf file with changes written as "Caecilia" to "Noto Serif" the way font name appears in KUAL Font menu. But, I somehow donot see any changes, the font remains dark as earlier. I ran framework restart and kindle menu restart as well still the same dark font caecilia. Wondering what am i missing here? I used fc-override.tpl template. Thanks. Last edited by mitra; 04-05-2016 at 02:51 AM. |

@mitra: Caecilia's handled in a very peculiar way, it might need some more trickery to stick... Can't remember exactly, but I suppose I got it to work at one point since there's a Caecilia-to-Bookerville example config in there, so.. .

Well, I am out of tricks currently, so as I see it I have to wait till I am presented with the working trick for Caecilia font change.
I sincerely hope, someday someone will find the trick to do it and share here. Till then, I am sitting tight here. Thanks NiLuJe. |

Hey, I got a little motivated so i tried going your .fpl file and I realised I was so naive to make that mistake. The Aa fonts showed Caecilia so I tried putting Caecilia alone in the original font Family.
And there was the mistake, I had to put Caecilia Regular aah... and it ran. Also, I renamed file in conf.d as 98-caecilia-regular.conf. Anyways, I realised that trick after i went through your file, so i owe it to you. Thanks NiLuJe. |

Can I use this Font Hack to change only Home Screen UI font?
I'd like to have smaller titles and author names so that more elements could be shown on Home screen's single page. Currently there are only 8 items per page. |

On my firm ware, the font that needs to be overridden is Futura. It may be something different in the newer firm ware. Maybe Ember? |

@mergen3107: You can, but it's a terrible idea (i.e., crashy), and won't do what you want, as @Barty said.

I think maybe its the same problem you have already fixed with knowing my serial number of PW3 model and you edited .bin file so I have already could install the jailbreak hotfix .bin , I know the other bin files should install thru MRPI, but I think the bin files does recognized them because they need to be "fixed" to my PW3 model Again thanks so much |

Are you using the packages from NiLuJe's "snapshot" thread?
Those should all be fixed now. |

@doctoralvarez: What @knc1 said, the snapshots should install (and work) properly on your device . (I was a tad optimistic in my original PM reply, and had forgotten to update said snapshots at the time ^^).

And that you don't have old downloads laying around, because everything was rebuilt at the same time, so if half of it is working, the other half should too .
