Which bezel colour is easiest on the eyes?
Which bezel colour do you prefer in terms of easy, comfortable reading?
------------------------------------- Thanks for your input so far! Looks like I had not thought of some options... sorry for that. Unfortunately there is no way to change a poll, and I didn't want to creat a new one. Poll options people have missed so far:

My color choice wasn't up there. I have 4 colors, white (nook), black (kindle), silver (sony) & raspberry pink (sony). I like the raspberry pink the best. I find it easy on my eyes. Next I like the white of the nook classic.

You are missing one very important option:
- Doesn't really matter. I have had several readers with various bezels and I see no difference between black one and white one. |

I played with the new Kobos at Chapters yesterday. The version with the black bezel did give the illusion of having better contrast over the white one.

I've used navy blue, red, & black and they all looked fine. So just pick the color you like best.

I've only had gray (Kindle) but once I start reading I don't notice it, I'm too concentrated on the book content.

I would have voted blue, but for me anything that's not too shiny. I usually use a skin. Even brightly patterned skins don't keep me from enjoying the words on the page.

Right now everything is dressed up in flashes of lightning across a red sky. The one for my PRS-350 is from Decal Girl, the one on my Dell Streak is a custom order from Skin-it. |

I would agree that it just doesn't matter. I was reading on my Boox today, with its shiny white bezel, and I didn't notice it for the 100+ pages I read outside in the sun.

With the options you offered, I'd go for black. But my real answer would be: any dark colour. So, not white, silver or gray.

I thought I was smart to buy a pink Opus. It annoyed me a lot (it is quite bright compared to subdued Sony) so I bought a brown decal skin. I also had a flashy skin before but it was too much. So black, gray, brown, navy and nothing flashy for me.

Dark Blue but I voted Black since that was the only really dark color listed.

I've had black, white and silver yet and it does not matter the least bit. Buy the one you like best!

I voted gray because of Kindle, IMO It's the color that's easier on the eyes for me.
While black looks cool, I think the color is too strong and intense, and normally don't like white too. But it all depends of the particular color or device. For example I like the black form the Nook STR because it's matte. The Sony PRS seems good in its black too. BUt as for the Boox M90 for example I think the black is just too strong, I think it would be distracting, and the white version seems to go better with the product. I think the difference is the size of the reader too. Well but that's just my opinion |
