Question Nook GlowLight Plus dictionary font size?

So my biggest gripe with the NOOK series eReaders has alway been the size of the dictionary font and the light font color doesn't help either.

So today i stopped by the local B&N to look at the new Nook GlowLight 4e and also saw the NGLP too. So i tested the dictionary and to my surprise the font size were much larger! Sopke with two associates and explained the issue I habe always had with the Nooks. They had no idea and i did not have my NGLP.

Does any one know how to enlarge the dictionary font size?

Thanks in advance...

PS
I have latest firmware and I am not rooted.

So i went back to B&N. Compared the NGLP and they are the sme size. Seems due to the light gray font of the dictionary when usingthe GlowLight it wash out the font compared to when the GL is off.

On the NGL4 it does seem to be a bit larger or maybe it looks that way cause of the smaller screen.

Conclusion: no option to increase dictionary font size or make that font black.

What??? This GlowLight 4e is only 212 DPI???
Every 6" of this decade is 300 DPI.
The practically new "GlowLight 4" is 300 DPI.

Also, the 4e has 8GB vs 4 has 32GB.

Hopefully the 4e's memory isn't partitioned.

The lower end PocketBooks are still 212 ppi (Basic 4, Basic Lux 3 and Touch Lux 5). But the last Nook that was 212 ppi came out in (I think) 2013, so this is definitely a step backwards.

Lucky me. My daughters NST GL final died (guys & gals lets pour one out for the NST!) RIP. So I sent her my NGL+ and decided to get a Kobo Libra 2 (sounds like a drink at a bar)... Love it so far and I can see the dictionary dark font.

The Kobo Nia is not 300DPI. It's 212DPI. But then Kobo does have the Clara HD that is 6" 300DPI.

NGL4 is $30 more than NGL4e. IMO that is worth the 300 DPI and the 32GB. Disapointing non of the NGL4(e) are waterproof anymore.

And that ereader was released over a year ago. The Kobo Libra 2 screen size is a nice sweet spot between 6" and 7.8" of the Nook.

Also the 4e does not have the temperture control to change the light yellow either. :/

Previous 6-inch readers from Barnes & Noble that make GlowLight 4e questionable:

The 2015 Nook GlowLight Plus:
1. Waterproof, dustproof
2. 300 dpi
3. 4 GB (not partitioned)
5. GlowLight (no temperature control)

The 2018 Nook GlowLight 3:
1. 300 dpi
2. 8 GB (not partitioned)
3. GlowLight WITH temperature control

I do not understand why one would buy the Nook GlowLight 4e if you have any of the above last generations of Nook. The processor may be snappier on the 4e, perhaps, but if you did not turn on Wi-Fi so that B&N could ruin your firmware more in the last 12 months, you should be fine. I cannot see the benefit at all.

Every iteration B&N is removing something I liked. The list of subtractions is longer than the improvements. We bought a Kobo yesterday.

The 4e is just supposed to be a base model like the Kindle or Nia. It's not really that shocking. Just overpriced.

It WAS partitioned. customer complaints caused them to remove the partition.

If the GL4 was waterproof and non partitioned, I would have one right now. Their software is basic, but works for me. Sometimes Nook is their own worst enemy.

Exclamation

That’s incorrect about 2019 7.8” GlowLight Plus
-Has 8GB
-Has temperature color light (blue/yellow)

You may have read "Too Many Daves" by Dr. Seuss.
There was a woman once who had 23 sons and named them all "Dave".

There's the 2015 (BNRV510), 2019 (BNRV700), 2021 (BNRV1100).
And they are all named "Dave".

I did not mention the 2019 7.8-inch, though. I was writing about the 2015 6-inch model of Nook GlowLight Plus.

See comment above from Renate, who kindly wrote all the model numbers.

I would be happy if Nook had a new 7.8 or 8-inch model, perhaps calling it "GlowLight 4 Plus" or something.
