iRiver Cover Story firmware download problem

Hi
I have a Cover Story which locked up whilst on holiday. Annoying! I've visted the iRiver site which explains how to do a soft reset and then went on further to explain how to reload the firmware. I downloaded the files onto an SD card & booted it into the maintenance mode. All OK so far. Then I am supposed to download the lastest firmware (1.15) - about 120Mb. However then download stops between 40-50Mb everytime. I cant get a full download. I've even tried the smaller v1.13 but have the same problem.
I've tried diff computers (XP & Win7 & Linux) & still the same prob. So i'm stuck with a useless eReader.
Does anyone else have this problem? and more importantly does anyone know where I can get a full firmware download?
Thanks v much
Andy

I found support totally lacking & took my reader back & luckily was within the 30day purchase period so had it replaced with a Sony.
Good luck with yours

I just upgraded mine. Same problem with the 121MB file, but there is another (not particularly complicated) way to do it
Grab the iriverStoryEB05.z01 to iriverStoryEB05.05 and the iriverStoryEB05.zip file. If you have a multipart-able unziper, unzip the zip file. If you are using Linux and don't have a multipart-able unziper (which was my case), open a terminal in the directory where you saved the files and enter :

Code:
cat iriverStoryEB05.z01 iriverStoryEB05.z02 iriverStoryEB05.z03 iriverStoryEB05.z04 iriverStoryEB05.z05 iriverStoryEB05.zip > iriverStory115.zip
then unzip iriverStory115.zip. You will now have a file called iriverStoryEB05.HEX

md5sum iriverStoryEB05.HEX
333bc5fd9bc90ec58ae38887964b4bcf iriverStoryEB05.HEX

copy it to the root directory of your Cover Story, cleanly eject the device, unplug it. It should find the update, check it and then start the actual update. Takes a couple of minutes, then it reboots et voilà!

No idea whether it was worth it yet of course, but well ...
