Issues with converting TXT to EPUB
Hi All,
I have a large number of plain text (TXT) documents that I would like to convert to (EPUB). I have been happily adding them to my calibre library (now 0.9.43 Linux) and running the convert. When the convert completes, I check the document with the viewer and it all looks OK, until I I get part way through the document and then I see the following:- klzzwxh:10099klzzwxh:10100klzzwxh:10101klzzwxh:101 02 klzzwxh:10103klzzwxh:10104klzzwxh:10105klzzwxh:101 06klzzwxh:10 Mixed in with the actual document. It looks like some kind of sequence count from the conversion process. Any Ideas? |

nope, the original text look normal. This stuff is added by the conversion process.
If you look at his sample, 10099klzzwxh:10100klzzwxh:10101klzzwxh you can see it is some kind of count increasing. |

Thanks Kovid, I If needed, I will send source files etc to the bug report area. In the meantime, it looks like the error only appears with text file over 10,000 lines long, this also ties in with numbers showing up in my output EPUB.
I wonder if an internal counter has been set or something like that, in either the txt converter or the markdown converter? Other files I have processed with the same settings have worked a treat, but they have been much smaller. Glyn |

I just did a little more testing, it only happens when i use the markdown conversion.

calibre uses python markdown for the conversion. Open a bug report and I will forward it to the maintainer of the txt input plugin.
