(What) do you name your Kindle?
I was just curious - since Amazon gives you the option to name the Kindle, what other people have used as names? Or do you not name it and just leave it as YourName's Kindle? Mine are called Nocturne Alley for the K4, Orion Black for the K3, Dante's Inferno for the Kindle Fire and Raven for the PW, respectively.

My Kindle Keyboard is named Flicker because it's not quite a Kindle Fire.

My Kindle Keyboard 3G is "Nancy Drew" because that's the book (Secret of the Old Clock) that began my passion & obsession with reading when I was 7 years old. It was also the 1st "chapter book" I ever read, and my KK was the 1st Kindle I had.
My PW is "Alexandria & Bodlean", named for the 2 most famous libraries in the world (from a historical perspective), and I consider my PW to be my personal library. |

I don't name my Kindle but I don't leave it as it is either. I use a naming format.
Charlene's K3 Charlene's K4S Charlene's K4B Charlene's Paperwhite Charlene's Kindle Fire That way I know what to email what to. Now I got the PW though all other Kindles feel severely neglected. |

I use the same naming format (Kimberly's Kindle, Kimberly's Fire, and Kimberly's iTouch--for Kindle app on there). The same names are in my email address book so that I can quickly pull up which device I want to email a document to.

I never named the old K3. The new paperwhite is "TehPaperWeight". It's a bit juvenile, but it seemed appropriate. The name of my hard disk at home is "Nameless". You can figure out any implications for yourself.

I like to name mine. My K4B is "Lil Black" and my PW is "Schneeweisschen". I have donated my old deices, and as to the Android ones, I can't even keep them apart, beause there are so many of them on my account. My "Kindle for iPad" and "Kindle for iPod Touch" are self-explanatory, however.

My Kindle Keyboard is named Esmerelda Weatherwax, because I think Granny Weatherwax rocks
Granny Weatherwax, if she can help it, wears a plain black dress, a somewhat battered black cloak and a tall, pointed witch's hat, skewered to her 'iron-hard grey bun' hairstyle with multiple hatpins. She is thin, and, while not really that tall, has such a commanding presence that she seems tall. She gives her weight as "9 stone" (126 lb.) in Lords and Ladies. Many references are given to her blue eyes, penetrating gaze, and apparently height-boosting confidence. In Equal Rites she is described as "handsome", having an excellent complexion, no warts, and all her teeth, although it is implied she finds this a bit inappropriate for a witch. |

I like to name my electronic gadgets after artifacts from or pertaining to mythology, so my Kindle is called Edda, after the documents we get almost all of our modern knowledge of Norse Mythology from.

I named my Kindle Keyboard "Pearl" for awhile. It seemed weird to keep seeing a name there that wasn't mine so I changed it back.
Pearl was for pearl screen. |
