There was a 2.3.4 for the Kindle 2i ... that's what my settings says I have.

Amazon is skipping the 2.4 number. Latest version is 2.3.4 or 2.3.3 depending on your device.

2.4 was the limited Kindle Development Kit beta build. It's unclear if the 2.5 build will include those features yet or if there'll be another alternate developer version.

2.5 sounds inherently cooler than 2.4, that's why they skipped ahead. Just say it: "Two point fiiiiiive."
