Troubleshooting locations missing

Anybody have an idea why my location numbers are missing. I have tried reloading software and rebooting and its the same on all books

Sounds like your K3 firmware has been updated. To see location numbers with the latest revision, you need to tap the Menu button (which will also display 'page numbers' if that book happens to have a corresponding print edition that Amazon has used to generate them).

Apparently Amazon's UX folks decided that the more minimalist layout was preferable to displaying location and now page numbers all of the time.

People complained that Kindle books didn't have page numbers.

So they added them in the most recent firmware.

Except, they took out locations, too. So if your book doesn't have pages, you're left with less functionality on your Kindle...

You can still hit a button to see the locations for books without page numbers (though I dunno which ...)

That would be the "Menu" button. Click it, and you will see your locations.
