I had (naively?) assumed that smaller files, ie one per chapter, would perform better as less of each file needs to be kept in memory at any one time. Cheers, Simon. |

Performance on portable devices seems better with smaller files. If a feature suggested by Dale is not needed. |

Another advantage of keeping things in the same file is that loading a new one could trigger a formatting operation for the new text. If the endnotes are in the file, this has already been done when the chapter in question was opened.

TOC Expansion
It would be very nice if the TOC was always fully expanded or to have a single selection to do so.

One thing I would like Sigil to do is to renumber the ncx if I take out an entry.

Seriously though, that feature's been available for a bit. Last edited by DiapDealer; 02-01-2013 at 03:57 PM. |

And what's even more amusing is that I specifically added this feature because JSWolf asked for it last year.
Maybe there's too many features to find - wonder what we should remove? As it happens, all the groundwork to get the renumbering to work made it possible to implement the Edit TOC function - so you will be able to just open the TOC in a dialog, delete the entry, and save it - and it'll renumber automatically. That's if QT 5.0.1 (just released to replace 5.0.0) ever allows user_none to be able to compile the Windows version |

I'd forgotten it was Jon who requested it originally. I do remember thinking it was a good idea, though. Wasn't it about the same time that you added the mass file renaming feature?
EDIT: Will Qt 5.0.1 be required for building the next release then? Last edited by DiapDealer; 02-01-2013 at 04:20 PM. |

Guess I missed that one. Glad to know it is there. I'll not be able to use it when getting rid of the contents link because that's just plain stupid to be in the ncx. I'm already at the ToC, so when then go to another ToC from there?

Is there a manual or feature list for Sigil in case there are any other features we may have missed?
