Just for the record, I used CrystalDiskMark to measure the transfer speed. This is my Kindle DXG.
Read/Write speed in sequential Data transfer was: 16.23/2.368 in MB/s For Comparison: Class 4 Sandisk SD 8GB in same test above. (BTW, Class 4 means worst case write speed is 4MB/s) 16.15/11.86 in MB/s Read speeds were normal for the DXG, but write speeds are total crap. Its actually quite unacceptable to have such a low speed considering today's standards. I guess they just let it go since the kindle is only supposed to read books. You would rarely notice the slow speed since books are so small, transfer is over in an instant. The internal memory of the DXG is only 3.3GB anyway. Just for fun, with the assumed numbers above, it shouldn't take longer than 25 minutes to fill up the Kindle DXG's memory. |
