Calibre2OPDS Preferences on Mac
Where are the preferences stored for Calibre2OPDS on a Mac? I fairly new to OSX. I know they're stored in the application directory in Windows but I've looked all over the mac and can't find it. I want ensure my encryption string matches the same on my Windows installation. Thanks.

It should basically be the same in the two systems! The configuration files should be installed in the ".calibre2opds" folder within your home folder. The path to the home folder varies between the different OS supported, but the principle is always the same.
On a Mac system you can normally use the '~' character as an abbreviation for your home folder. Also because it starts with a period the folder will default to being hidden. |

I don't see it there but I think I found it anyways. I found there is a menu item that opens the preferences folder. Unfortunately, it doesn't actually take you there on the Mac but the status view showed me it is embedded in the package itself at: Contents/Resources/Java/.calibre2opds. You have to control click on the app and select "Show Package Contents".
Is the above correct? |

Hmm, I have no idea, and I have no Mac to check out for myself. Looking at the code the install folder should be a fallback choice if not able to use the home folder for some reason. What folder gets opened when you use the Menu option? That SHOULD be the expected location but it sounds as if it is not in your case.
I guess one of these days I will have to spend some time on a friends Mac stepping through the code to see what is happening. Note that you can also use environment variables to explicitly specify a location. This is covered in the User Guide. |

The entire package is contained in calibre2opds.app, including the hidden .calibre2opds folder. There is no install folder from what I see.
When the program tries to open the config folder it actually opened my Documents folder. However, the path in the status bar showed me Contents/Resources/Java/.calibre2opds. This can only be gotten to by peeking into the app itself. Like I mentioned above, I've only had a Mac now for a bit over a week and I still trying to figure this all out. |
