Spiegel.de: Kleine Nabelschau zu eBooks auf der Buchmesse

Spiegel.de ist weiterhin rührig, wenn es um eBooks geht. Der aktuelle Artikel geht dabei mal konkreter auf das Interesse und die Vorbehalte der Verlage ein.

Was die Absatzzahlen betrifft, würde ich ja wirklich mal gerne Mäuschen spielen. Scließlich kenne ich meine Umsätze und würde gerne wissen, was große Verlage von ihren Titeln vertreiben.

Wenn ich weiß, was große Verlage so umsetzen, gebe ich gerne meine Zahlen bekannt. Das Finanzamt hat schon Mitleid mit mir ...

Ein Bekannter von mir hat heute in seiner Zeitung (Minden) gelesen, dass die Verlage überhaupt nicht zufrieden mit den Verkäufen seien. Es seien insgesamt bisher um die 65.000 eBooks verkauft worden - ohne irgendeine Angabe von Quellen, also ist das eine seeehr schwammige Zahl.
Ich halte sie als Größenordnung für die Gesamtverkäufe z.B. auf libri.de und thalia.de für durchaus realistisch.

Halte ich für realistisch. Eine andere Quelle spricht von 9 verkauften eBooks letzten Monat. Was herb wäre. Aber eindrucksvoll die Bedeutung von libreka als Online-Shop für eBooks definieren würde.

Mit sehr wenigen Ausnahmen werden selbst die meisten bekannten Titel im mittleren dreistelligen Bereich liegen. Verkaufszahlen wie vom aktuellen Dan Brown gelten für den US-Markt Markt. Davon ist Deutschland noch sehr weit (sehr weit!) entfernt.

Ich bin mal mutig und verrate meine Absatzzahlen: Auf jeden Fall mehr als 32 im Monat (das ist die Zahl die ich von Libreka gelesen habe)
Und das ohne vorher 1.5 Millionen investiert zu haben.

Nehmen wir die omninösen 65.000 für eine Rechnung heran.

Angenommen, die zehn größten deutschen Verlage veröffentlichen jeweils 100 aktuelle Titel als ePub. Damit sind 1000 aktuelle Titel verfügbar. Durchschnittlich würde Libri.de also pro Titel 65 eBooks verkaufen.
Absolut realistisch. Aber eigentlich die untere Grenze, die ich erwarten würde. Ich gehe von 150-500 verkauften eBooks für einen bekannten Titel (keinen Top-Bestseller) aus.

Na klar bietet iTunes mittlerweile MP3 an. Weiss allerdings nicht ob schon in D, da ich keinen deutschen iTunes-Account hab! Ansonsten hast Du natürlich völlig Recht.

Wenn sich das .m4a-Format (in dem alle meine iTunes-Dateien sind) auf jedem anderen MP3-Player problemlos abspielen lassen (und zwar als MP3 ...), dann ziehe ich den Punkt zurück.

Natürlich nicht, aber der Export via iTunes als MP3 ist jederzeit möglich.
