MP3 loading and playing with the 505 reader

Is there a way to load and later play mp3 files in sequencial order
ie: 1-2-3-4-etc with the Sony 505 reader?

I believe the only way to do this would be to rename them!
e.g
01 - love love me do
02 - Toy soldiers
03 - Boom Boom shake the room
etc

Thanks for your reply.

The selections are numbered, yet they appear and play in alphabetical order

thats strange when you say they are numbered I assume you mean in the actual name of the file yes? not in the id3 tag etc!

Yes. The selections are numbered as in the example provided by stustaff's post

I guess only thing to do would be to 'letter' them then

e.g

AA- song title here
AB- favourite track

etc

MP3 files have tags in them which include the name of the song, the artist and other information. It doesn't matter what the file name is, if the tag is different. There are some efficient mp3 file editors which will allow you to change the tags, so if you want a specific sequence you will need to edit those tags and insert the number at the front of the title.

Before Musicmatch went out of business, the music jukebox program allowed tag edits. I am not certain if other similiar programs like REALPLAYER, or the iTunes allows tag editing/changes.
