What part of that site do you think would make an ebook? You need to give more than a generic link to a site. You need an RSS feed or at least a page that has links to articles.

1) You can't build a recipe from a site that just links to other different sites. The other sites are never consistent enough for a single recipe.

2) You can't build a recipe from pdfs. That's mostly what I saw there.

I'm not trying to throw a damper on you, but not all web content is suitable for a recipe. Generally, if the site is using pdfs or is linking to content located at other sites, it's not suitable for a recipe.

Does this site produce its own non-pdf content? Does it have an RSS feed?

clinics

it does have html versions of the articles
the pdfs are optional
i tried the rss feeds and it works with calibre but unfortunately the rss is only previews of the articles
any ideas on how to get the recipee to fetch the html version or is it a lost cause?

To accurately answer that question, you'll have to give some links to html versions of the articles or an RSS feed that links to html versions of the articles. However, if there are html versions, parse_index can usually be be used to grab the content. See:
