Glowlight Plus plugboard/save template
Hello,
Picked up a new Nook Glowlight Plus to replace my Nook Glowlight... After updating Calibre, no problems sending books. However, the plugboard I've had configured forever wasn't applied. Found the "Save Template" under device configuration (when was that added? ) and set that up with: {series}{series_index:0>2s| - | - }{title} - {authors} Sent the books to my NGP again and I can see via windows explorer that they have the expected name. Unfortunately, when I looking at the books on the device, the original title & author is all that is shown. I'm guessing this means the NGP is using metadata from the .epub itself rather than the file name, even for sideloaded content. What do I need to do to get my series name and number to show in the NGP library? Thanks! |

Instead of using a filename save template, set a plugboard.
Preferences ==> Metadata plugboards |

The NOOK one worked for ST and GL, but not for GL+. I don't see any other NOOK related devices names. After a bit of reading here, I considered trying MTP_DEVICE. Is that what I should use for the GL+? What's the difference between a plugboard and a filename save template anyway? With the current template, the file was saved to the device with {series}{#} - Title - Author. Yet didn't show that way in the on device library. So what difference would a plugboard make? Thanks! |

the templates USE the same language.
The filenam one does just what it says. adjusts the file name. The Plugboard Plugs (inserts) data INTO the books regular metadata field This allows you to leave the Library Metadata fields pristine (unadulterated), for other uses and still have a way to make a particular device jump thru your hoop A common use prefix the TITLE with the Series_index to make the device show/sort in the proper order |
