How to make 'ondevice' column persistent?

Hello everybody.

I am running Calibre on Windows 10. I have a Kobo GLO Hd reader. When I connect my Kobo to PC, the 'ondevice' column appears in my Calibre library, so I know which books are on my reader.

Is it possible to have a custom column containing the same information but which is persistent? In this way I know which books are on my reader even when it is not connected (of course the information should be updated at every connection/disconnection). Similarly I would like to have a custom column keeping the reading status of a book.

Thank you in advance.

I suggest looking at the Reading List plugin. With it you can create lists that send books to the device when connected, or update themselves to show the books on the device. Or any other purpose you want.

Marking books as read is a frequently discussed topic here. There are a lot methods: a Reading List, a yes/no column, date when read, adding a tag. Of course, as you have a Kobo ereader, I would recommend my Kobo Utilities plugin. It can pull the reading status from the device when it is connected. Along with a lot of other things.

You can do this (and a lot more) with the Reading List plugin - https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=134856

I use it for precisely this and also for 'queuing up" books I want added to my Kobo when I next connect it

Edit:
I also use davidfor's Kobo Utilities plugin for updating my custom Percent Read column.

Thank you to both for the immediate reply. I installed the plugins you suggested: I have not played with all the options they offers, but it seems that they suit my needs.

Thank you again.
