I've wondered myself just what kind of bird that avatar was.

EDIT: sorry for being off topic, Valio.

Firmware 1.12?

Hi all,

Nice with firmware 1.10, a bit higher than the 1.04 that's the latest available from the iRiver global site.

However, I can see that the korean iRiver site has published firmware 1.12 that is either available as a zip-file or distributed automagically with the new iRiver PLUS4 software. I assume that we can't get an english version of PLUS4 yet but the 1.12 firmware should be ok.

Does anyone know how to get it and maybe share a link? Tofuman perhaps?

Thanks!

Iriver Story comic viewer

Well, I have only used it occasionaly, my impression is generally positive.
It can handle CBZ archives (if you have CBRs you have to convert to CBZ, easy to do en masse via command line).

Page turning speed is good but depends on the picture size, and contrast is acceptable: this is a 8-level grayscale 800x600 screen, so if you want to get optimal results you have to pre-process.

Worth noting: the Story managed to display sequentially a comic which was scanned with two pages on one picture, i.e. it displays the left half of the picture, then the right half, then next pic.

With current firmware (1.10) it is not possible to rotate pics for landscape viewing.

Thanks for 1.12 tofuman

However it did not solve my problems opening a swedish epub book borrowed from the library >< I read that the swedish reseller stated that it would be supported from the beginning of december so I hoped that 1.12 was the solution. Apparently not

I get a "Failed to open file!" message when trying to open it. I've downloaded it to Adobe Digital Editions, authorized my computer and my "STORY". Dragged the epub from borrowed items to the story. It shows up ok but I can't open it

And still no zooming in PDF landscape mode.

Oh well, let's hope they fix support in the next firmware.
