This is a silly article. It's way too late and the picture is of a K2 and not a K3.

The Kindle has always had free 3G except for the new wifi only model.

When I tell people that they can get free internet on their Kindle's they always seem surprised. I wouldn't recommend the Kindle as their main computer, but for reading and checking emails it's perfectly fine.

Unfortunately, the problem with that is, when you're talking about 3G, this isn't actually true for a lot of people.
I really, really wish I had 3G internet (free or otherwise) on my Kindle, but alas, it only works on holidays to some countries.
