K9mail, battery life

For some reason Froyo mail stopped working on my PE. I was looking around for another mail client and happened on K9mail. I was surprised to find that the default email program on the PE is, in fact, K9mail. I suppose all of you old grizzled veterans already knew this

Without the phone apps working, the PE seems to lose virtually no battery power in hibernate.

Wifi usually starts up within seconds after coming out of hibernation. However, sometimes, it needs a little help.

It looks like I can get 9 to 10 hours of book reading before the battery dies. This is with no more that 1 hour of "surfing" during that time. This might improve as the battery goes thru another few charge cycles.
