It's such a long time since we had a quiz question, so I hope you'll forgive my slipping these in. Inspired by a most wonderful holiday in (my) winter!

1. As longtime quiz thread visitors may recall, the country with the highest total number of languages is Papua New Guinea. But what country has the highest number of languages per capita? (1 point)

2. What are Tok Pisin and Bislama? (1 point) - Pidgin languages. Stitchawl, 1 point

3. What country is each associated with? (2 points)

4. What historical event is considered one of the main causes in their origin? (1 point)

I know that Bislama is a Pidgeon language for a South Pacific island, but I can't remember which one... We encountered it when diving somewhere down below the equator but I can't remember where...

Tok Pisin and Bislama are both pidgin languages.
