Not sure what you are trying to say? X (or an equivalent such as xvfb) is required to run Calibre - even the command line tools. The log you posted showed an error message complaining that X could not be found in the case that failed.

X is required even for the command line tools. As itimpi said you would either need to run in an X session or using xvfb.
