Magazines for the PRS-600/505? (And a Q about PDFs)

I just bought my first eReady (PRS-505 for US$199 at Borders) and am already debating on upgrading to the PRS-600 for the speedier PDF rendering. I have two subscriptions to magazines in PDF format, and the 505 is sloooow when rendering.

Are there any magazines that are delivered in ePub format? If so, my google-fu fails me.

Has Sony announced any magazine subscription deals for the Daily Edition?

Someone with a 505 and a 600 - is PDF rendering that much faster on the 600 series?

My advice would be first to download and install calibre and to look at some of its recipes.

Several sci-fi and mystery magazines (Alfred Hitchcock, Ellery Queen, Asimovs etc) are available at Fictionwise. They are multiformat titles meaning you can download them in any format you want, including epub and lrf.

The videos show speed, but hard to compare when the same document is not rendered and paged through on both units serially or in parallel.

I did try calibre, but rendering Linux Journal was a mess. I also used pdflrf and it wasn't too bad. I will have to play with that.

I am headed to the Sony Style store tomorrow to see if they still have the 600s still in stock (got new shipment today).

yeah, they show speed that the 505 never got... on some pages, it takes me up to 10 seconds for a page turn
even with about 2-3 seconds which is already long, are about 5 times better than at the 505
