Reading secured adobe pdf file (Abode Digital Edition)

I have recently bought an e-book which comes in the form of secured abode pdf file. I could read it using the Abode Digital Edition downloaded at my computer but the file failed to open in my Hanlin V3. Is there anyway to get around this?

Also.....cringe.....could it be that I have not be updating my e-book reader faithfully? How do I check which version have I updated? I could not even remember the last time I updated my e-book.

Thanks!

The V3 and clones do not support DRM infected PDF at present. So the only option you have is to strip off the DRM. Check the PDF forum for the appropriate thread.

Jinke is apparently working on adding Adobe Digital Editions to some of its models. However, there is the issue of MobiPocket requiring DRM-exclusivity which complicates the matter.

In any case, your best current option is to strip the DRM, see Adobe ADEPT DRM for PDF circumvented. That thread discusses the legal situation, so I won't repeat the usual warnings here.

Then you need to be careful about the format of the eBooks you buy. This problem occurs on all readers.

So true. The ironical part in this saga is that I actually found the hacked copies on the internet freely downloadable. I do thinkt that piracy is WRONG - people laughed at me when I insist on buying legitimate copies of software. I would gladly pay for the e-copies of the books I want but I am upset if I cannot read them at my e-book reader.
