That usually happens when there's a problem in the package (file) or html file, at least in my experience. When this message appears click "Show Details" and print the log here.

Ugh... Conversions of Bible's (and dictionaries) have always been problematic for calibre!

Yep. Also all those huge Delphi Classic books. I've had much better luck using kindlegen to create a combined mobi/azw3 file and then using the kindle unpack plugin to split them up.

and as the author(s) are either 75+ years dead, or immortal, ( depending on your religious views) the concept of author copyright is N/A ?? so why the need to convert one ? as for dictionaries - every reader I've ever owned ( & I've had 3 different makes already) came with a handful of dictionaries built-in or free to download Last edited by cybmole; 04-26-2014 at 10:50 AM. |

As for ridding the world of the bad versions, I guess God is hampered by the fact that all the best libel, slander & RIAA lawyers are agents of the devil ( I'd better stop now - don't wish to over-offend or get banned) |

I've had the same problem with at least one book I bought from Mobipocket (which is owned by Amazon) yrs ago. It refuses to convert (probably in part due to its size) and as is can't be loaded onto my Kindle reader. Never considered Kindlegen. I'll have to try it out and see if it solves the problem. Thanks for the tip jgaiser.
