PlayStation Portable - an e-book reader

Sony's PlayStations Portable (PSP) with its large 4.3" 16:9 screen is not only good for playing complex 3D games or watching movies; the handheld console can also be abused as an e-book reader! Japanese programmer Kentarou wrote a tool called Jpegbook to convert any kind of text into JPG files for the PSP. You can even set a background image and the font type of your converted text.

Jpegbook is currently available for free on Windows and Mac platforms.

This looks cool but I think that you need a compiler to compile it.

I imagine the book sizes will be huge as well, if each page is a jpeg file. Not knowing the specs of the device, this might not be an issue, but it certainly shows that people will find a way to read, no matter what they're carrying around :P

yes jpg files as e-book pages doesn't sound reasonable. Big, slow, not editable.
