True Miracles with Genealogy: Help from Beyond the Veil

Hello, and thank you for allowing authors to promote books

My latest book is True Miracles with Genealogy: Help from Beyond the Veil. The Kindle version is currently on sale for 99 cents at http://amzn.to/gGHErN and has some great reviews.

This book is a collection of family history research stories written by ordinary people with extraordinary experiences. These events are part of the reward that comes from doing genealogy. They are the fathers and mothers turning their hearts to their children-the spiritual moments and help that comes from beyond the veil. Heaven is real, and only a whisper away.

I also have a new teen/YA book on Kindle for 99 cents. It's titled "Dingo." Please click on signature link below for more information.

Question Additional formats needed

Not all of us have kindles, therefore additional formats will get more customers; The subject sure peaks my interest.

While we're pointing out problems, I should add that a lot of MobileRead users dislike disguised URLs. This isn't Twitter; there's no reason to shorten a URL, so to many of us, the only obvious reason to use a redirect in a forum is because someone doesn't want people to see where it really goes. You probably don't have anything to hide, but there are a lot of people who simply won't click on an obfuscated URL out of habit or principle. Is there any reason not to use the real thing?

Thanks for getting it, Gunner. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts after reading.

Thanks for pointing out re the shortened links, Curmudgeon. I hadn't thought of that. No, no reason at all to shorten, other than the fact they are SO lengthy. The first one is really http://www.amazon.com/True-Miracles-...=AG56TWVU5XWC2, which seemed a bit over the top. I'll do it this way in future, though, if it's preferred.

Hmmm! This is what I typed:
http://www.amazon.com/True-Miracles-...=AG56TWVU5XWC2
but it seems mobileread shortened it when I hyperlinked.

Edit: It still appears shortened, even when I didn't do the hyperlink thing. Any ideas?

That's not a problem because you can see the real link when you mouse over it, and it's clearly an Amazon link anyway. That's where it matters -- the mouseover -- not how it appears in the post. That's what you don't get with the redirects, hence the problems. It's just a matter of whether the reader knows where the link is going or not.

Given some people's willingness, even eagerness, to post misdirecting links to, um, let's call them one man, or one girl, or two girls, or three men, on various forums, I -- and probably others -- have become more than slightly paranoid. (and if you don't know what I'm referring to, just be thankful) It's safer to just have the real links instead of redirects to them, and more to the point for you as a writer, if even a very few people will be more willing to click them, that's to your advantage.
