Can I repair my prs 505
I stupidly used a USB adapter to charge my prs 505. And yes, it died.
I can't either turn on or reset it now. Actually, when I turn it on, the power light does not react. Is there any way I can repair this machine? Thanks!! |

All the stuff on the PCB is micro electronic elements (sorry, I don't have the proper expression at hand). There's the service manual posted in the forum. Check it out. Probably there's only a minor defect on a part which would have to be replaced, but you need the proper equipment. I would try to get it repaired at Sony.
Sorry I cannot be of more help. |

Sounds like the battery is completely discharged. Have you tried using a PSP type charger with the round plug. (Have you any friends with kids who have a psp?)
You don't have to buy the expensive Sony one any generic PSP charger will do. |

Try a very long mains recharge with a psp tip.
We have had lots of reports of usb+mains actually draining the battery. |

The PSP charger should fix your problem. Definitely let it charge overnight.

Ooops, sorry, I forgot about possibly an empty battery. Well, if charging works then forget what I wrote. Otherwise it really could be a defective SMD element.

Give us a sign if it worked (and also if it didn't, which would be sad)
