Would it be possible to add in a feature to remove unused elements from the css file(s). I often run into css files where only 5 or 10 elements are actually used in an epub, but the css file contains dozens, if not hundreds of elements. It would simplify knowing which elements will actually affect the epub, so they can be modified to improve the resulting, edited epub.

i second that - I have noticed the same thing.

I personally have one template stylesheet which fills most of my needs. If a book has some special needs, I add it to the stylesheet in that book. So, in my stylesheets are unused elements. They don't bother me. They hardly take up space, especially since they will be zipped, and I don't think there will be a perfomance issue.
Editing is easier for me, because all my books use the same stylesheet.

So, if that option will be built in, please let it be turned on or off.

Create an issue on the tracker.

Do note that implementing this issue will take quite a bit of work, so you probably won't see it any time soon.

Cool idea. I've accomplished this inefficiently by doing lots of searches, but a single command or some sort of highlighting would certainly be easier.
