NY Times cookies not working Help!

Been trying to download the New york times with little success. I enter what I believe are the approriate cookies (rmid and nyt-s) but when converting I can't get the links to articles to work and the nyt-s cookie always dissappears from cookies properties section after converting. Any ideas? I have cookies set to send and receive.

Make sure you have the current version of the WCC (1.2.0a) with Alex's newly-modified links. Based on what you're saying, you're using links that are Avantgo-only and no longer work with iSilo.

twinsdad, did you enter your userid and password in the source url? Have a look in the source url of each NYT channel and replace yourusername and yourpass with your appropriate login data. The cookies should be automatically set right the next time you download NYT with iSiloX.

I guess I don't understand. Where do I put my username and password? I already have my username, etc. automatically listed by Mozilla on the NYT site. Do I need to type it in somewhere else? I tried remaking the whole channel but to no avail. I have several clipped sites that work like a charm but I may give up on this one.

Don, when you have the Web Channel Collection (make sure it is the current v1.2.0a that was released two days ago or so) loaded in iSiloX, follow these steps:

go to the NYT channel that you want to convert and left click once on it to highlight your selection
right-click on the selection and choose 'Properties'
in Properties, go to the Source tab
in the Source tab, click on the url of the NYT channel to highlight it
right click on it and choose 'Edit'
In the edit control, scroll to where it says 'youruserid' - replace 'youruserid' with your own NYT username
Still in the same edit control, scroll further to where it says 'yourpass' - replace 'yourpass' with your own NYT password
Click on OK to close the edit box
Click on OK again to close the channel properties
In the top of the iSiloX program, go to menu 'File' and choose 'Save' to save your changes

Now you can normally right-click on your NYT channel and choose 'Convert'.

Good catch Alexander. I realized later in the day that I forgot the link with the instructions on how to enter userid/pw. (Y'know how weird stuff comes to you at offbeat times? hehe)

Don: If you're still having trouble, please let us know. That's what the forums are for. We're all very psyched that Alex got the NYT going again.
