Lilac, baby, you've got a food obsession you do.
OK .... last post, but here's the shot from the wrecking yard. Two of them, actually. And .... please note, I do NOT photograph well. |

I've very pleased that your car's front crumple zone did just what it should. Much better that the car should be a write-off than the occupants!
I think you're certainly owed something for pain and loss of time, not just replacement costs for what was destroyed. You car picture reminds me of the time a tree fell on my car. Although in that case it was the the support pillars that did their job, and stopped me (& family) being crushed. It's wonderful the amount of work that's gone into car design to make driving a lot safer when things go wrong. |

Have they "written off" the car? For the speed of the collision, there seems to be remarkably little damage. I guess, though, that if the impact has twisted the chassis, then it's probably not repareable. As Paul's just said, it's pretty amazing how well these modern cars do survive impacts that would probably have been "non survivable" 30 years ago.

Oh and as for your car, when you do end up with a replacement car and if your insurance and excise tax are higher, I suggest you make the trucking company pay the difference for you since if it wasn't for their driver, you'd not be shelling out more money.

Just popped in saw this thread (a LOT goes on around here if you don't keep up).
Whoaaaa, Ricky! Somebody loves you lots to be able to walk away from that one! (Could be all that Karma) Hope you are feeling better soon. Your straight-forward and often humorous repartee on this site makes cruising through here fun. |
