It will happen when it happens. I'd rather that they released it when it was ready, rather than rush out a buggy update to meet an artificial deadline.

That "artificial deadline" would be tuesday, according to what we've heard on the Paris book fair. Let's wait and see.

I think we'll may be surprised by the contents of this update.

I guess only 8 months is not enough, hum? We're talking about an update, not a whole new hardware or a completely revamped software.

Well, pdf and Epub aren't someting small.
Plus bookeen worked on Cybook "gen4" too.

Seams today won't be the day.

Well, but why is not a firmware with bug fixes released when it is available in new Cybooks?

Epub was not promise 16 months ago, folder support was promised. Working pdf and working html was promised since the unit claimed to support it.

Are you sure for ePub support? It as only been announced via the Bookeen's blog that ePub will be supported only one month ago, and it's due to the contract between Bookeen and Adobe for the support of Desktop Edition on the Cybook.

It works better than in the original firmware (less crashes). But you are still missing fine control of how to zoom in so a book not formatted for the Cybook becomes readable. Now you can zoom in in to large steps and choose between sidewise scroll or large amount of white space round the text that is to small to read.
