Troubleshooting Kindle 3g online

got my Kindle 3g (international version) few days before
it works perfectly on wifi,
however, i wanted to test the 3G connection, i switched off the router,
it couldn't switch to 3G automatically (no 3G icon on the top)
i tried "311" on setting page, it did search the wireless telecom providers

how can i make 3G work?

not sure if it's sort of firmware crashing issue (e.g. US version mixed with Int. version)
any chance to re-install the firmware 3.2.1 (international version) again?
just want to give it a try

Try it outside, away from your wi-fi connection.

hope it's just activation time issue / network issue, and can be fixed automatically,
not related to any firmware or whatever...

by the way, if there is still a list of wifi accesspoints (which i can't connect because they need password), will 3G work?

or 3G only works in a way that there is absolutely clear of wifi? (if yes, it's very stupid)

It will connect via 3G if there's no "known" WiFi network in range. Once you've logged on to a particular WiFi network, it will then automatically re-connect to that network until you tell the Kindle to "forget" it.
