Using Calibre to download new version

This is a little odd but am I the only one that gets two instances of Firefox launched when Calibre notifies you of a newer version and you click on yes I want to go to the download page?

I am on OSX Snow Leopard and .7.14 version of calibre but it has happened with the last few...

It isn't a second instance it is most likely just opening in a new window.

I haven't seen that. Do other apps that open web links have the same issue? I'm guessing Calibre (or rather, the Qt library that calibre uses) just sends the link through the operating system's standard URL handler (why it doesn't open IE or Chrome or Safari instead of Firefox).

I would expect that.
You have a page (set to display), Calibre plays nice and opens it's own tab and does not tuppy all over what was (about to be) showing

I would not expect that. Why initiate two sessions when one is sufficient

The "two sessions" has nothing to do with calibre and everything to do with settings on your computer in Firefox.

YOU! launched one session (Homepage) via your settings.
I set mine to do nothing, on launch. It's faster
