Bebook PDF font size

Hi,

I am presuming this is the correct forum for the BeBook as there does not appear to be a specific Bebook forum - that I can find at least.

I just received my Bebook. I have a few textbooks in PDF format but even at the largest font size they appear small. Unfortunately, even at the largest font setting, the book is _almost_ unreadable.

Any hint or suggestions?

I have not performed any firmware upgrade...yet.

Thanks in advance,
Garth

You can always try another font type. Put some ttf font on your SD card in the Font directory and then go to BeBook settings and change font. However after trying numerous fonts I still find original ibook.ttf fonts to be most versatile.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I copied a Times Roman TTF file into the "fonts" folder at the root of my SD card.

Based on the description in the manual I wonder if this approach changes how things are displayed in folders and menus?

This however did not help. I am wondering if its part of the file itself.

To enjoy the best reading experience with Bebook, there is a a
free tool to optimize your books and documents! It's really easy and
you can download the software here:
http://cutepdf.com/download/CuteWriter.exe

To optimize content, books, documents for Bebook please follow these steps:

1. Download and install Cutepdf
2. After the installation is finished: Open your document
3. Change the pagesize from A4 (or letter) to: 3,54 x 4,72 inch (9 x 12 cm)
4. Click 'Print' button and choose a new printer called 'CutePDF Writer'.
5. Click 'Printer settings', then 'Advanced' and then change pagesize
to 'Custom page size'
6. Now set the pagesize to 3,54 x 4,72 inch (or 90x120mm) and click Ok
three times.
7. Now click 'Print' and save the pdf file.

After copying the pdf file(s) to your Bebook and you will see it looks perfect!

Here are some examples of optimized Bebook content:

http://mybebook.com/download_free_eb...t/ebook39.html

You can also change the pagesize and save your document to rtf or txt
instead of pdf, this will also look great on your Bebook.

-- look at this forum(https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27400) for my bebook displaying pdf. I used palatino linotype ttf fornt.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Thiagu

If you want to change "typical" office-file-formats (rtf, doc, txt) - do it with OpenOffice.org 2.4.1! This program contains an in-build pdf-converter and you can do all pageformat-settings, while the documents in question are in these typical office-formats. But - don't forget to save these changed office-files using the "save as" option, if you need the original formatted documents afterwards.

Thanks for the tip. I will keep that in mind.

Right now I am trying to get a PDF document readable on my bebook. I am trying a trial version of "Advanced PDF Tools v2" to modify the page size and page content scaling. I need the right point size to fit on the bebook.

Vtstarin gave me the image size in inches however I need pt size for this tool.

I have been able to increase the font but the text is partially off screen.
