That was funny.

Will be books still be read in 100 years? It's hard to say. If we did the same thing 100 years ago, some of the authors whose works were put in the time capsule might today be obscure, while some would still be read.

Who even knows if paper books be around in 100 years? When it is opened, they might not bother to make the paper from these trees.

My first thought it that it was odd that it would be printed on paper, but on the other hand, things don't change as fast as we like to think they do. I was reading recently about several time-capsules that have been opened in the past few years (some had been buried as far back as 1880s), and the people who buried them wrote what their daily lives were like, and then also what their predictions were for the future (such as modes of transport, how people will dress and eat etc.). The remarkable thing was that their descriptions of their lives were pretty familiar, and their predictions were way off, and could have featured in sci-fi movies made today (thinks like flying cars etc.) Not sure what that all adds up to, but part of me thinks we will still be reading from paper books for a long time to come (and we have been reading from paper for at least a couple of thousand years, so another 100 years in the future is a pretty short time in comparison).

Until it is first publicly distributed, the "authorship" of record is undetermined and subject to gaming.
As far as I know, the annotator only owns the copyright for the annotations.

If nobody has read it, the custodians could strip her name off it and distribute it as a new work written by Horace G. Smedley. I always wondered what Horace ever did with that time machine he was working on.
