Android for Smart Q7 or SmartQ V7

Hi

This is my first post! I have searched many forums including this one but can't seem to find a satisfactory answer.

I would like to know when a stable version of Android will be available for the SmartQ7/SmartQV7 devices, or if one is out where do I get it from?

Also will Android Marketplace be accessible?

Thanks

John

There are some working versions available for the Q7 but I don't believe they have the Android Marketplace yet. See here for details http://www.jiongtang.com/fourm/viewf...8655cc8e9e8adb You will probably have to register to read some posts.

SmartDevices Releases Android 1.6 (Donut) For V7

Eletroworld now has Donut available for downloading.

Go to the heading for Service and scroll down to "Android 1.6 Donut OS for SmartQ V7 (Version 1.0)".

Alex indicates there are still problems but they will be resolved in the next month.

Caution: Do not try to run Donut on a Q7. The underlying hardware is different and installing it on a Q7 may turn it into a brick!

Unfortunately, SmartDevices' 12/03/09 release of Android 1.6 for the V7 does not support the Android Market.

See the updated review of the V7 for more details: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62831.

Hang in there! It should be coming soon.

I've just checked out the review update, thats great news and the W1060 may well have Android too, so I may yet get a 7" device with a stable version of Android. Fingers Crossed!

Thanks to you both for the info
