I've been operating successful commercial websites for 10 years and I wouldn't have brought it up if I didn't have a few different ideas about how to do it I wouldn't necessarily write it myself, I'd have my staff do it and I'd likely want to charge a small annual fee to pay for the programmer and hosting fees. I don't find that leaving my home PC on all the time is a problem and I leave it on when I am away for weeks at a time. It is in my bedroom and I got tired of the noise the hard drive makes every morning processing with Calibre. I solved that by installing a solid state drive with my OS and Calibre on that drive. It is quiet and speeds up the whole process. I do regret being cheap and buying a 120 instead of a 240 GB. The prices have dropped to about $105 for a 240, which is less than I paid for a 120. I recommend the Kingston SSDNow, which Newegg sells. By the way the SSD makes my computer faster for everything and is great.
